Xbox

One of the more popular gaming systems available on the market today, the Xbox was Microsoft's first independent venture into the video game console arena, after having developed the operating system and development tools for the MSX, and having collaborated with Sega in porting Window CE to the Sega Dreamcast console. Notable  for the Xbox console include Halo: Combat Evolved, Amped, Dead or Alive 3 and Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee.

If you are having issues with your Xbox system, review the following most common troubleshooting tips to get your system up and running.

1. Restart the console.

2. Determine whether the issue has occurred more than one
time. If this case is the first time that you have
experienced this behavior, the issue may not occur again.

3. Determine whether the Xbox 360 console is overheating.
Make sure that the console is not in a poorly ventilated
environment or near a heat source. Heat sources include
TVs, computers, monitors, and other electrical devices.

4. Make sure that the Xbox 360 console is set to the
correct time and date.

5. Power down the system, and then remove all connected
accessories, including the Xbox Hard Drive that is
attached. Test to see whether the problem still occurs.

6. Determine whether the disc that you are using is the
cause of the issue by testing several similar Xbox
360-compatible discs in the console. If the problem occurs
with only one disc, search the Microsoft Knowledge Base to
determine whether the particular disc has any known
issues. Use a disc of the same type, such as a game disc,
a DVD movie, or a music CD, to test whether the problem is

2.Press the power button once to turn off the Xbox console and press it again to restart
.

3. Try to play the game again. If this does not work, you can try to clear the game cache on the Xbox hard disk. If you have a Xbox Memory Unit available, copy the game cache for this game from the Xbox hard disk to a memory unit:

4. Select the large game icon to the left of the list and press the A button.

5. Press the A button again to delete the game cache file.

Note: Delete should be the only available option. If Copy is available, you have chosen a game save file and not the game cache file. Press the B button to return to the list, and then select the leftmost icon.

6. Select Yes to permanently delete the game cache, and then press the A button.

7. Confirm that the icon is no longer listed, and then re-start your Xbox console.

8. Insert the game disc, and then either load your latest saved game from the memory unit, or play the game from the beginning. Can’t find what you need here? Go to xbox.com for more information.
